We are a bean-to-bonbon chocolaterie that blends Colombian single-origin cacao, design, gastronomy and sustainability so that every detail and every bite becomes an unforgettable moment.
Our Origin:
A few years ago we planted our first cacao seeds in Rivera, Huila, with a simple dream: to turn the land, the talent, and the heart of our people into small bites of happiness. Since then we have never stopped walking —or learning— alongside the families who cultivate the trees that give us their fruit.
The Art Behind the Chocolate
It all begins with our commitment to quality from the source. We work directly with cacao farmers to obtain the finest seeds, ensuring they are grown, harvested, and processed in a sustainable and responsible way.
Once we have the cacao seeds, the art of making chocolate begins. Our chocolatiers use both traditional and modern techniques to transform cacao into a premium quality chocolate.
We blend and refine the cacao paste, conche it to achieve a smooth and creamy texture, and finally add carefully selected ingredients to create unique and innovative flavors.

Harvesting Innovation from the Root
At Kakaówa we cultivate innovation hand in hand with cacao-growing communities. Through field laboratories and co-design sessions we identify challenges and prototype viable solutions using local resources.
This collaborative work has allowed us to sustainably improve grain quality, develop new product ideas, and —most importantly— stabilize cacao prices over the long term in a historically volatile market. By diversifying activities around cacao, we also create quality non-agricultural jobs, increase farmers' income, and help close rural inequality gaps.
A Sweet and Clean Circle
Our rooftops turn sunlight into electricity: more than 80% of the energy powering our production process comes from solar panels, transforming the region's heat into the promise of a sweet and clean future.
That same commitment continues once the chocolate leaves our facility: each bonbon is wrapped in sugarcane paper, compostable films, and vegetable-based inks, packaged to last, be reused, and at the end of its life, easily recycled by separating its parts. This way we avoid unnecessary plastics, extend the life of every box, and ensure that today's gift can return to the earth —or find a new purpose— guilt-free.
